RARE 1940's Madrid Boutique Cut Velvet Jacket | VINTAGE

RARE 1940's Madrid Boutique Cut Velvet Jacket | VINTAGE

248.00

Rare Vintage 1940’s black cut velvet and silk jacket.

Demi-couture construction, with a grosgrain ribbon around the interior waist for a perfect fit.

Mel’s Notes: The address on the obscure label indicates the jacket was sold in an upscale boutique at the Hotel Emperador, which was opened in 1947 and hosted a slew of high profile guests like Sophia Loren, Ernest Hemingway and Ava Gardner. The jacket was discovered in Nebraska - an interesting tidbit given that there has been a American-themed diner called Cafeteria Nebraska next door to the hotel since the 1950’s.
