Ca. 1927. Rare, documented, numbered (14510?) French Couture. Labeled, “Jeanne Lanvin, Paris”. Classic yellow on ivory label. Tiny mother-of-pearl buttons on a silver lamé in a basket-weave pattern. Glows in the sunlight like a halo!

This was originally worn as a wedding cap worn by Gertrude Pritzlaff, a stylish woman who cruised around the world on the S.S. Franconia in 1924 (see last photo, woman on the right). The cap (and its variations) are depicted in several Lanvin sketches from the period.
